New Study for Neurodivergent Adults
Occupational therapy (OT) students at Elmhurst University are looking for participants for a research study using PhotoVoice. They are curious about how neurodivergent adults perceive the supports and barriers in the areas of communication, relationships, and self-expression.
PhotoVoice
Here is an excerpt from a PhotoVoice series from the project “Perspectives of The Sierra: Living with mental illness in rural communities in Mexico.”
Participants should be:
18 years or older
Current residents of the United States
Identify as neurodivergent (autistic, ADHD, anxiety, etc.)
The students will be leading three different groups of no more than 8 participants each. This study will require participants to take photos of something in their life that represents how they feel in response to 3 targeted questions. Then, participants will need to explain the significance of the photo or its meaning. Participants must watch a pre-recorded orientation meeting, as well as meet weekly on Zoom to share and discuss their photos for a 3 consecutive weeks.
Groups will begin meeting on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays the week of May 6, 2024, so please sign up now if you’re interested! Please share this invitation with anyone you know that meets the above criteria that might be interested in participating.
